One of Whiskey Riff’s Favourite Discoveries of 2024
Jack Browning is a 27-year-old musician and painter from London, UK, whose distinctive blend of country, blues, folk, and rock has taken him to renowned international stages in a very short amount of time. Equally at home in the recording studio, the art studio, or on the road, Jack’s multifaceted creativity and raw songwriting talent have earned him fans on both sides of the Atlantic, be it by performing on iconic bills like Laurel Cove Music Festival or by his exhibiting work in Mark Maggiori’s Far West show in Texas.
His musical journey began in his teens, sharing stages with legends like Jeff Beck, Joss Stone, and Gregory Porter, and gaining early, hard-earned experience that shaped his musicianship. Deeply influenced by the likes of Neil Young, Tom Petty, John Prine, and Townes Van Zandt, Jack Browning’s songwriting honours tradition while forging his own path; honest, soulful, and lyrically rich.
A Rising Force in Americana
2024 marked a breakout year for Jack with major festival debuts at Red Rooster, Black Deer (UK), TakeRoot, Ramblin’ Roots (Netherlands), and Little Sandy Shakedown (US), where he shared billing with The White Buffalo, Uncle Lucius, and Stephen Wilson Jr. That same year, he embarked on his first US tour, playing 15 shows across Tennessee, Kentucky, Ohio, West Virginia, and Indiana, including stops at beloved venues like Southgate House Revival, Red Barn Radio, and The Underdog in Nashville.
His debut album, Red Eye Radio (2023), was met with wide acclaim for its unflinching lyrical content – songs about life on the road, blue-collar struggles, mental health, and the call of the open road.
Jack’s upward momentum carried into 2025, with a mostly sold-out headline tour of the Netherlands in May, following a standout second-stage performance at Country2Country Festival (London) alongside Lainey Wilson, Dierks Bentley, and Wyatt Flores.
In June, Jack returned to the US for a highly anticipated set on the Creekside Stage at Laurel Cove Music Festival, sharing the bill with Kaitlin Butts, Kashus Culpepper, and Evan Honer, and earning a shout-out from Noeline Hofmann during her main stage set.
Later this year, Jack will return stateside to perform a closing set at Healing Appalachia, where Tyler Childers, Chris Stapleton, and Lukas Nelson will also appear in support of addiction recovery efforts in Appalachia. During the same trip, he will exhibit original artworks at the prestigious Far West Show in Austin, joining artists such as Mark Maggiori, Glenn Dean, and Jeremy Lipking.
Painted Skies (2025)
Slated for a late-summer release, Jack’s sophomore album Painted Skies is already generating buzz, with early singles receiving praise from Whispering Bob Harris, Whiskey Riff, Country Central, Holler, and more. The album delves into themes of life on the road, newfound fame, love, loss, and the complex dynamics between father and son — all rendered in Jack’s signature blend of gritty Americana and introspective storytelling.
A Talent on Canvas and Stage
In addition to his music career, Jack is a celebrated fine artist, with work exhibited and sold globally. In September 2025, Jack is invited to display four works in Mark Maggiori’s Far West Show (Austin, TX), featuring Glenn Dean, Jeremy Lipking, David Kassan and many more.
In 2024, one of his pieces sold at auction during the Taos Art Museum’s Summer Gala, and 2025 saw his first solo show at Western Gallery (TX). His artistic credentials also include creating the album artwork for The White Buffalo’s 2020 record On The Widow’s Walk.
Jack is endorsed by Black Mountain Picks, Goldtone Inc, and Pyramid Strings for his music. For his art, he is endorsed by Rosemary & Co and Michael Harding.
